To kick this years blog off we thought we’d share a few tracks from artists that have influeced our music, with intros from most of the band. Enjoy! DESTROYERS RADIO BLOG by The Destroyers
Thought you might be interested in seeing this video posted by DanielFinbar on Youtube. The is the end of Questa Canzone with much participation from the audience.
Some weeks ago film-maker John Humphreys who directed our Out of Babel video last year, shot and directed a new video for The Glass Coffin Burial of Professor Zurinak. The track features on our album Out Of Babel (released Sept 09) and on the USA only compilation Waltzes, Gliches and Brass: The New Sound of Vaudeville (www.empods.com).
This video was a very low budget quick turn around production but that enhances rather than distracts from the work. The process involved myself and John Humphreys cycling out into the Wyre Forest, hanging our hammocks and shooting at dawn. The whole thing was shot on an £80 digital camera and edited in Final Cut Pro. The edit was on Youtube three days later! Go check it in our video section and leave us a comment.
Yup, here at Destroyers hq we’re all toasted from the summer tour and taking a well earned breather! It’s been good fun though. If you managed to catch us and dance your socks off, then you’ll know what we mean. For proof though, check out this ace vid taken by routeoz at the Avalon Stage, Glastonbury.
Anyway, in the meantime, if anyone has anymore evidence, in photo or video form, of our exploits during this summer….well you know, we would love a copy…

Ps. Album out soon. Watch this space.
A little while ago we were involved with the guys at the Flatpack Festival, in writing scores for and playing at their opening night. Here’s a little slideshow which outlines what is was all about, along with a review of the night itself.
When being faced with the prospect of 5 gigs in 4 days at Glastonbury there was nothing better than seeing people in the audience wearing “I love the Destoyers” T-Shirts, thanks whoever you are! Send us any pictures, audio or video from any of our gigs and we will try to get them all posted here… Let us know who you are, get in touch and we hope we see you again soon..
